"Mansfield-Dunne Wines is the culmination of a 10 year effort of John and Lynn Peterson to secure land in the Santa Lucia Highlands with the goal to grow premium pinot noir and chardonnay grapes and produce wine from those grapes. We have long been pinot noir and chardonnay lovers and (John at least) long harbored the goal of developing a vineyard and label focused on these varietals. After discovering the Santa Lucia Highlands area in 2001 and meeting Ed Kurtzman and a couple of the local growers, we were impressed with the potential of the appellation and quickly concluded this was the place to focus our dream project."
