House of Bacchus: Prime Rib Dinner (January 8, 2024)

Did you know that Papes sells 10,000 pounds of Prime Rib from November 1st to New Year's Day!!! Dare I say "Holy Cow" or "A lot of Cows"? After five years of talking about it, we are launching our monthly Prime Rib Dinner on the 2nd Monday of each ODD month (Jan, Mar, May…. You get it).

The inspiration for this dinner came in three parts:
1) Doug Mottern, Proprietor of St. James Gate in Belmont
2) The House of Prime Rib or Lawry's The Prime Rib
3) My love of eating Prime Rib

Doug Mottern hosts a monthly Prime Rib dinner that I am shamelessly copying for its brilliance and simplicity; his dinner is on the last Monday of the month. I implore that you need to check it out; it's the "Genesis" of this dinner; he has ONE OF THE BEST Whisk(e)y selections in the peninsula, and if you love great whiskey, you MUST stop by. The House of Prime and Lawry's The Prime Rib are institutions like the Pape's and some great Prime Rib meals in my life. Lastly, I just want to eat a good Prime Rib once a month, and I can't be the only person that wants that and wants to look forward to it, so come and join me!!!

Come enjoy a home-cooked meal by our resident chef, Yusuke Konno, starring Pape's high-quality Prime Rib. Be sure to reserve your spot early, but don't worry if you miss one; these dinners will happen every second Monday of the ODD month from now on.

A little about Chef Yusuke:
Born in Japan, Chef Yusuke has worked in various eateries around the world. With years of experience in steakhouses, chop houses, breweries and dining bars from Tokyo to Melbourne, he recently decided to move here to the Bay Area, and we are very excited to taste all that he has to offer. Keep an eye out for more dinners and events prepared by Chef Yusuke!
